Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC), a nonprofit law firm with more than 40 years of experience, partnered with CMRignite to confront the rise of domestic violence across the state. Launched during Domestic Violence Awareness Moth, Breaking the Silence: Abuse Affects Us All aimed to increase awareness, reduce stigma, amplify survivor voices, and connect people to critical resources.

CMRignite led a fully integrated, research-driven campaign that paired bold creative with targeted media, public relations, and digital engagement. Eye-catching placements (including 3-D billboards in everyday community spaces) were designed to meet people where they are, while inclusive imagery underscored that domestic violence affects all communities.

The campaign also spotlighted Legal Aid’s documentary, Beyond Fear, sharing powerful survivor stories and the support that helped them rebuild their lives. The effort generated strong statewide visibility, nearly 20 media placements in one month, and increase engagement with stopthecycle.org — helping break the silence and expand access to life-saving support.
