The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) set out to modernize thousands of webpages—an essential step to better serve its diverse audiences and meet evolving federal digital strategy standards.

CMRignite’s in-depth research quickly identified the challenges users faced: barriers in access, confusing navigation, and content that no longer aligned with audience needs. We responded with a complete digital transformation, implementing the latest U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) standards while introducing fresh, compelling APHIS branding.

The results spoke for themselves. A streamlined, intuitive user experience. Clearer pathways and simplified content. Significantly improved accessibility and mobile responsiveness. Up-to-date, relevant information, paired with the removal of outdated material. The impact of this overhaul earned CMRignite the USDA’s prestigious 2024 Small Business Contractor of the Year Award.

“CMR did an exceptional job with managing this work. Given what I know today about the contractor’s ability to perform in accordance with this contract or order’s most significant requirements, I would recommend them for similar requirements in the future.”
